North Carolina real estate licensees are required to take eight hours of continuing education classes by June 10 of each year to remain on active status. For brokers and provisional brokers this includes the 4-hour General Update and a 4-hour elective of your choice. For brokers-in-charge (and BIC Eligible brokers) this includes taking the Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP) course and a 4-hour elective of your choice. ELECTIVES may be taken online or in the classroom. The General Update and BIC Update is only offered in the classroom. Non-resident licensees should refer to the NCREC for additional options to satisfy your continuing education credit without having to travel to NC to take courses.
